Alamito STREAM Center | El Paso, Texas
Spartan Construction completed the renovation and repurposing of the historic Alamito Community Center into the new Alamito STREAM Center, a community-focused learning hub serving the Segundo Barrio neighborhood.
The project transformed the existing facility into a modern educational environment designed to support Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STREAM) programming for children and families, in collaboration with UTEP and EPCC.
The completed facility includes specialized learning and innovation spaces such as clean labs, a greenhouse, maker spaces, STREAM classrooms, kilns, laser cutters, and professional-grade 3D printers, as well as kitchen spaces designed to support EPCC-led master classes and hands-on “Kitchen Science” instruction for the community.
A key project goal was creating a high-performance, net-zero-ready environment that can be monitored and engaged with by the community, while preserving and adapting a historic neighborhood asset for long-term use.
